Therefore, when a person wants to move a site to another service, we make the process comfortable.  


Steps 

  1. Open a ticket or send an email to support@wedowordpress.com with the subject "Moving my site". List each domain name of the site to be moved. 
  2. We will acknowledge receipt of the ticket and provide an estimated completion date (usually within 2 business days). 
  3. We create one zip file per domain that contains a complete copy of your site and database. This file is used to install your site on another server. 
  4. We place the file in a secure location in the cloud and notify you with the access details.
  5. You download the file within 5 business days. We encourage you to store a backup in a safe place. 
  6. You provide the file to a person at the new service. Include the site's administrator username/password. 

Very Important


From the moment you request that your site be moved, do not make changes to your site. If you do so, all changes will be lost. Put your updates on hold until the site is at its new location.


After you move your site, we suggest:

  • Point your domain or subdomain at the new service. 
  • If you have a SSL certificate, ask the new service to install it. 
  • Make sure outgoing email is set up correctly. 
  • Test the site thoroughly as soon as it is active.
