We must answer this question carefully. Why? Because your site will look exactly the same at the old location and the new location. Therefore, a change must be made so you can see a difference between the home pages.

This solution is we recommend. This requires technical knowledge and cannot be explained in layperson terms alone. If you have questions, please ask.

  • Go to your previous hosting provider and log into your file manager (i.e. cPanel, Plesk of via FTP)
  • Rename index.php file at previous host to index.old
  • Open a web browser and an incognito window -- so the page is not pulled from cache (your local device) -- and go to your site.
  • If the site's home page is visible (and looks normal), you are seeing the site at We Do Wordpress.
  • If the site returns an error, it means you are seeing the site at the old location. Wait patiently for the DNS A record to propagate so your web browser sees the site in the new location. Check every few hours until you see the home page correctly.
